2 others were stood on the wall gawping at him. One flew down but only took a drink and the other one decided to stay grubby and steer clear.

The trouble is when the Pigeons have a bath in my Bird Bath they always leave "presents" behind so you have to clean it out after they have finished.:dunno::gaah::snork:

I've been setting mouse traps in polytunnels (I put them in 3 side timber 'tunnels' in case birds get in them) with seeds in to stop the mice digging them out the seed & cell trays. Found another 2 this morning so dropped them on a grassy area where I expect Red Kites or Foxes to find them (been doing this for several days).

5 Minutes later there's 2 buzzards and 1 Red Kite circling overhead and I said "I wonder if they can see the mice?" Then the Red Kite suddenly came towards us and I pulled my point and shoot from my pocket, pointed it in roughly the right direction as it swooped down (no time to check whether it was on the right setting - it wasn't, zoom, anything) and pressed the button. Looked at the screen and thought I'd missed it. Looked properly just now and ....

That's sort of the idea, give them the idea that when we visit there'll be food available and one time when they turn up I'll have a telephoto lens focused on the mouse and my wireless remote control attached to one of my proper cameras mounted on a tripod.

A walk on Hengistbury Head this morning and there had just been a landfall of about 50/60 Wheatears. All a distance away but some were I small groups.
