@wiseowl I promised you this a while ago, I've still not managed to get a full face picture so you can see the difference between a Rook and a Crow, still working on it! :)

First time since I moved to my "new" house (1999) I saw a Green Finch on my feeders just outside the conny this morning. Tried to sneak indoors to grab my camera but s/he saw me and was off like a shot! Not just the first time I've seen a green finch at the feeders, the first time I can remember seeing one in my garden at all.
Very happy to see it, also have had a number of tits around the feeders, bird table area, unfortunately not so happy as they were merrily stripping the liners off my hanging baskets displayed on the fence!

Came across this little chap today while moving a few things around in the greenhouse. First cockchafer beetle of the year.

No idea why, but every year around this time I find lots of these in the greenhouse. They seem to be very good at getting in there, but have absolutely no idea how to get out again.

After grabbing a couple of quick close-up shots, I took him outside and within a couple of minutes he was airborne. :)
