Watered plants in grow house and mover a dozen or so to cold frame to start hardening off. Potted on some perrenials I have and then hand weeded the veg beds.

Made up a large half wall basket for the North West house wall. Lots of young Begonia Sutherlandii and a nice Salmon colour Diascia in the middle. it's low enough for me to reach up and water AND I can view the top of it when looking out of the window,

After work, cut the lawn, tidied the edges, took the last of last years old growth off the shrubs and binned them. Topped up the water feature, fed the hanging baskets.

If it stays dry... I'll be getting all the weeds out the gravel drive that have suddenly sprung up after all the rain we've had :)

I've got some calendula seeds to sow direct for a splash of colour. I love their bright colours and the bees like them too. [IMG]

P1040636.JPG The path to the 2 garden recycling bins was getting out of hand. Overgrown tatty shrubs, a couple of Elder trees that had been hacked at over the years....:gaah:, ivy and other rubbish stuff. The deal is "If Mr Namaste an d me clear it all up and lay a couple more paving slabs in place of the soil, can I grow 3 Tomatoes up against that south facing wall ( back of garages) for all to pick for their lunch if they use the recycling bins?" so this was it this morning. 3 black buckets semi sunk and the toms are growing on nicely indoors but will have to come out soon.
And 6 plugs of Calibrochoa Petticoat Pinks arrived from Hayloft Plants so they have been potted up into 3 " pots and put in the mini GH,

Weeded the gravel drive, cleared off encroaching lily of the valley off the edge of the drive, trimmed back ivy off the wall that was getting a bit long, got rid of a few empty plant pots that were under the sink garden

Planted out courgettes and sowed cornflowers around the mounds. Discovered that our strimmer is ropey and tidied up stepping stones with shears after OH mowed grass. Spread out grass clippings to go brown and become mulch. Fed tomatoes, sowed some more African marigolds and pricked out some coleus. Confirmed that compost in dalek is too wet for lack of brown layers. Wondered what to do about it.

@Jenny namaste: curious: why are pots semi sunk? Interested.

Thought it would give them stability if it got windy and the toms were getting top heavy. Also, that it may help with water retention.
