    Do they still sell them?
    Or are they old ones?

They still sell them - bought them yesterday in Sainsburys; just under 2 quid from memory

If your Sainsburys has the same sort of layout as ours, they are not with the sausages, they are alongside the cooked meats and pâté

A good sausage should contain at least 70% meat. If it is a packaged sausage the label will tell you the meat content. Now I know this won't be all prime cuts of pork !
Best of the shelf sausages for me are Asdas pork and leek - gorgeous with a dab of mustard:thumbsup:

They sound lovely. I might try those with the mustard. They did some with chilli bits in at one time I think. Not sure if they still do. They were nice :)

Black Farmer's and Black Farmer's Daughter's on the rare occasions that I eat them. Low carb and good ingredients.

I have never had a black farmers daughter. I have never seen one. What's the difference between them?

As nice as sausages are, sometime, lets not forget why they exist at all.

Historically (and indeed not so historically), rich folk would buy all the good bits of meat, those with a few bob would buy the 'alright' bits, like the brisket (on beef) or belly pork, and then what's left gets minced up with whatever filler is handy, stuffed into the animal's intestines, and sold cheap as slausages.:)

Our local butcher is very refreshing to speak to. He doesn't go in for all the marketing hype. He openly and proudly proclaims that this weeks sausages are made of some beef that was about to go off, mixed with chillis to hide the flavour a bit, or some pork he had left over minced up with a bit of heart, or whatever. He always says, 'use them up within a couple of days, because they wont last much longer'. They are cheap and delicious though, but we hardly get them now because I've spoilt all the fun in our house by insisting on a healthier diet for all of us.
