The great thing about this is that you can dig it up at the end of the season and bung it in a pot with no ill effect. For 2012/13 that was a good move. For 2013/14 it spent the winter in a pot next to where it was in the ground!

My A Striatula is about 3ft high and badly damaged by snails but no sign of flower buds, whether it will or not time will tell.

          Brugmansia sanguinea started blooming today...................

It's been outdoors for a couple of months now as it was getting too big for the greenhouse (in relation to the space that I needed).

That's not an exotic plant - that's a very silly plant.

            Arisaema tortuosum.

Mine have a bit of snail damage also, often find the odd snail hiding under the foliage,
I've even had damage on agaves from snails.

Way ahead of mine! It;s only just poking through.

I'm clearly growing sissy slugs 'n snails here!
Found another branch forming on my A.striatula today:snork:

I just had a daylight look at the Aloe (as I couldn't see much last night) and on closer inspection they look like branching and there is a flower bud, how did I miss it!!
                Snail (and frost) damage.

I thought that it was frost damage as it happened over the winter. But that's good news - means that my snails aren't defective after all!!!

These are kinda exotic. I spent 90 minutes first thing today pricking these Musschia wollastonii seedlings out of a 6cm pot...................

I got bored at fifty and must have chucked the same number down in the bed by the back door where they'll have to take their chances.
