Hello gardening buddies! My name is Cat and I have 4 acres of land in beautiful Devon. Luckily most of my land is taken up with piggies, goats, hens, geese and ducks. I do however have a lot of garden and a sort of idea what I want to do with it. I started last year with the front (north facing) I dug up all the grass, laid a path and threw in a load of cottage garden plants. I am going to have to re-jig a few plants this year but I am pleasantly happy with how its coming along. My back garden (south facing) is yet to be sorted out. I first need to relocate all my poultry! This will be next years project and I know I will be needing you all to advise me and tell me when I'm about to do something stupid! This years project is to relocate the veg garden from the bottom end of our land to up near the house. I ( I say "I" but it was actually my husband) have just finished building our greenhouse. We think we have put it in the perfect spot, south facing? :/ The veg garden is very much behind schedule as I have been out of the country supporting a sick friend who unfortunately just died of breast cancer. So, I doubt that I will have stacks growing this year like I had planned. I'm not going to beat myself up about this and instead I am going to spend a bit more time digging and setting it up so it'll be perfect for next year. I tried to upload some pictures but it said that they were too large, I'm not sure what that was all about. I'm really looking forward to learning from you guys! xx

Hi Catrin, you too. I have very secluded suburban garden. It's about 80x40 ft and has trees that overhang all around the bottom half. I have some pics on my digicam which I'll upload soon for you. Need the feedback anyway. :)

:spinning:Hello and welcome, you will like it here

Sounds like you have a project on your hands there. I only have a small sub-urban garden.

Hi Catrin, sorry for the loss of your friend :grphg: you can still utilise your g/h bit late for growing from seed, but garden centres are full of tomatoes/cucumbers etc.
We love photos especially animals, quite a few have chooks, I used to have goats and donkies.
Sounds quite lovely roll on the photos.:dbgrtmb:

Hello and welcome to the forum Cat :)

I think you need a few posts before you're allowed to attach photos.

Instead you can use Photobucket (or any photo sharing site will do), then you just copy/paste the URL of your photo after pressing the 'Image' button (to the right of the Smiley face icon)

HI Cat and welcome to the forums, if you are having problems uploading a picture then most likely it's too large (file size) and you get this error "The uploaded file is too large for the server to process." if so you need to compress the picture a little, I normally load the picture into Microsoft
Office and then compress it into a document size and that brings it down from a large file size (3 - 6 meg) to under 1 meg, which the server will then accept....good luck
