        It's very detailed. It cleaned up well, I've not used any silver cleaner just in case it wasn't and it dissolved it :D

        Have a good look with a magnifying glass for any marks, .925 is good (sterling) if its got any others you could date it :)

                    No, it's all sealed but the 3rd picture looks like that end fitted into something maybe?

                      could be. I've considered taking it in to one of the local antique shops but if it's just pretty tat I have the fear of getting laughed out the shop ;)

                        Contact your council, and they will put you in touch with their own people I expect.
                        I think that's what I did with my axe head :) (aka a bit of old farm equipment :biggrin:) :roflol:
