Round this way you could just buy a one bedroom apartment for that price!

£147,500'ish - just had a look what you get for that round here for that and the choice is pretty grim.

In the towns nearby, you can get very small one beds for about £150,000. In our village a three bed terraced cottage is about £400,000 :hate-shocked: and three bed semi's in town go for £300 -400,000

None around here at that price, you couldn't even buy a shell of a house

Besides borrowing money off parents, Help to Buy, etc. (which simply increase house prices), a couple of weeks ago I saw a new estate agents' idea on how to increase prices further - the suggestion of converting the integral double garage into self contained accommodation to let out and help pay the mortgage.

A Sunday stroll around some of my old haunts, on a cool and cloudy May afternoon.

Nice to see these girls enjoying a lie down.

The hawthorn blossom this spring is the best I've seen for several years.

            005.JPG

These are the remnants of a grand old avenue of limes, which once lined the driveway to a large country house which burnt down in the late 18th century.

It's not called cow parsley for nothing then! Although when I got a little closer I could see she was actually munching on some tasty bramble tips too.

Had a lovely time doing another garden visit today, just a few miles down the road from us.

They only open one for weekend each year, but so glad I went. Feeling quietly proud too, as this is where my daughter currently works as an apprentice gardener. :)
