Nothing much doing in our garden today. The sun broke through about noon so I helped Mrs LWW hang some washing out, then she got me back in the house because the decorators are in the rest of the week and we had to tidy up, I am sure that every female on this site understands the logic in that but I am afraid that it is beyond me :dunno: I would tidy up when they had finished  I have just got away for 10 minutes for a cup of tea :coffee:

Yup. Generally speaking (dangerous thing that!) "After flowering" is best, 'coz that way you get the flowers, and then the new growth will be building up for next years flowers.

Things that flower late in the season are usually on "this year's wood" so can be pruned over winter / in spring, but things that flower early in the season are usually on "last year's wood" so pruning over-winter means foregoing flowers the following year.

Aside from that are considerations as to whether the plant does better if pruned when dormant, or if it "bleeds" or is prone to "infection" such that pruning when growing vigorously is best. Box, for example, should be pruned early in the year (traditionally on/near "Derby Day") otherwise the "cuts" may not heal sufficiently before Autumn / Winter and then Box blight can infect

It's a bit like not wanting to be hit by a bus unless you are wearing your best underwear LWW :lunapic 130165696578242 5:

Might be better to worry about what you might do to your best underwear when you are hit by the bus :heehee:

Quite. And the potential embarrassment of getting caught buying some slinky underwear:)

Reminds me: I think it was "figleafs.com" site which had, next to the "Buy" button, a message saying "You can remove it later" :heehee:
