Our push mower gave up, and we're due a new one. It seems best to buy online, as there is a lot of choice which gardening centres don't usually have. However - which? Any recommendations or otherwise?
    Thanks! Annemieke.

Not bought one since the 70's, and that was second hand.

    Think it was a Ransome's :)

Same here. Best mower, powered or push, I've ever had. Rescued it from the local skip.

Bought one locally, just to support the (small, independent) shop. Don't know the brand yet, but will let you know in due time how it fares. Thanks!

It fared terribly. Straight from the word go, I hated it. It was a 'Handy' and very cheap, about £35. Pushing it was harder work than our old one, and it did nothing. I have just put it on Freecycle, after arrival and testing of the replacement: a Husqvarna 72-64 Hi-Cut for £90 all in. Marvellous. Does our, admittedly awkward and rough lawn, in a jiffy. No more worries about leaving it too long or will it rain tomorrow?
Thought I'd let you know. Annemieke.
