I have been diagnosed with an arthritic spine, I only take painkillers if really bad, the Dr prescribes me Valium as a muscle relaxant, he knows I will only take them in desperation, and may ask for a prescription once a year. Actually since I use my wheat bag now, it must be 2-3 years. :old:

There are some scary side effects with some people, however the only side effect that I get is drowsiness - - bearing in mind that my dosage is nothing like as high as it would be as an anti-depressant; my docs are very thorough, and check on all medications regularly (last check was a week past Thursday), and wouldn't hesitate to whip me off them if they felt it necessary.

      Probably
I have mentioned it to my diabetes nurse, but I think she is more concerned with foot pulses, which are fine. It happens when I sit down for any reasonable length of time too (recently).
It helps if I do foot and tendon stretches before I get up.
Are hip problems in women common? Lots of women seem to walk awkwardly. Just something I have observed after reading your post.

That is probably a result of childbirth - especially so if they have had more than one child. I believe that women are also more likely to suffer from osteoporosis

I have a repeat prescription for codeine for my neck which works well. I try to lay off it as much as possible though.
I suffer pretty bad lower back pain as a result of my neck and find that laying on the floor with my feet on the sofa helps. Biggest difference is having a good mattress though.
