You left out the bit about "photoshop" :)

But on the strength of it I'm tempted to try grafting a Family Brug tree :)

I've overwintered three plants from the seed you sent me last year, one is showing flower buds, also got lots of my own seed now.
So I might disappear under a canopy of Datura this summer.
Its my favourite Dat. I like it better than the fancy doubles.

Much nicer than the doubles. Maybe it's just me, but I find that they lack the scent of the single Daturas such as D.metel and D.wrightii.
We just grow them for the courtyard where we sit - it's nice to sit there of a warm evening as the scent erupts. D.wrightii is better in this situation than Metel as it's more upright. And the huge blooms are more impressive (unless it rains).

Surely Metel is more upright than Wrightii?
Or is that what you are saying?

I always found it the other way round. Here's the best photo I have (in a hurry anyway) of how metel grows for me.....................

It forks much sooner than Wrightii for me, and carries on forking. Bigger leaves and smaller blooms too.

Surely wrightii grows almost prostrate after the first initial flowers, it flops and then travels along the ground forming a mat.
Last time I grew Metel, which I must admit was about 20 yrs or more ago, other than those pink doubles, it was like a small shrub up to 3ft.

Maybe I'm doing something wrong then. From the same seed as I gave you I get very upright plants:dunno:

This is one of my favorites - a cutting from a seed grown plant. It looks fairly pink in the picture, but really is more of a rich peach. However, the colour seems to change as the lighting changes. I have two of these and they are both in flower at the same time, whilst no others are in flower at the moment.

I must try and get a photo of mine tomorrow - in a really big pot now, and romping away; looks quite happy too :)

I'm giving mine a weekly feed of tomato food now, as well as the chicken manure that was in the compost mix in the last pot.
