This is probably a stupid question, but I dug these up today as I have had enough of fighting with the slugs lol. The flowers were coming about a week or so ago but got chewed off. These earlies are only really small but there's definitely a meal. I think they were supposed to be much larger but they'll have to do. My question is...are they still ok to eat at this size? I am assuming they would just take like new potatoes :-) my fish cakes are on standby....

You've been here long enough to know there is no such thing as a "stupid question" ;)

Should taste like new potatoes, but, it does depend on what they were when you planted them (or, if they are 'volunteer' potatoes :heehee: ) I say that because, each of the past 3 years I have had potatoes grow in my garden: but, I've never planted any! So, I only ever get "volunteer" potatoes. Consequently, some taste like new potatoes and some go mushier - like "old" potatoes. Either way, they make a meal

Enjoy your produce and tell us how they cooked up! :dbgrtmb:

They were delicious! The taste was like nothing I've ever bought in the shops...they really do taste better when you grow your own. Am having a stab at sweet corn and cucumbers this year...oh and runner beans and mini peppers!
