The indignity of poor Kai. Think huge 10 stone German Shepherd who looks like a wolf (according to the locals). Walking up the lane beside our house this morning we spy a little black cat and her kitten just ahead. Kai goes into 'get off of my territory' mode and wants to get to the cats. Dogs are on lead so no danger to cats but little kitten jumps through hedge out of the way. Mummy cat decides to defend her right to be in the lane and faces up to the dogs. In fact marches up to the dogs and swipes Kai on the nose, drawing blood. Witness one astonished, shamefaced big dog who doesn't know what to do next. We amble on up the lane with me trying not to laugh, but commiserate with my big brave soldier.

Many years ago when we lived in Whitchurch, Bucks, our moggie (black and white called Penguin) used to rule the roost over a Labrador, Whippet and a Rottie. The Lab used to let Penguin walk over her, the Whippet stayed clear and the Rottie would come and sit by our back door waiting for Penguin to come out 'to play'. In fact, the Rottie's owners were quite embarrassed as when they went 'walkies' with the dog it reared up and flapped its paws around like a cat would do ... :snork::cat-kittyandsmiley::doggieshmooze: Bless them all and their quirks ... :heehee:

He is Loli, if anything runs he'll chase but if he corners them or they face up to him he doesn't know what to do next, bless him. And Tiffy, tiny little JRT/staffie cross, rules him with just a look :heehee:

youd have loved our old puddy tat Snow then @lost_in_france in her hayday (she's at rainbow bridge now, bless her :imphrt: ) but in her youth she had the dogs in the neighbourhood traumatised! she ran from nobody and dogs just didn't know what to make of her. two occasions in particular i remember her chasing, yes chasing, a German Shepherds up the road and another time she leapt from a low wall onto a Jack Russels back and clung on bronco style as the poor thing ran screaming up the road! she was a petite little thing but my goodness the courage of her! :wub2:

We had a little fearless Burmese cat years ago who would sit on the windowsill and growl at any passing dog, if it was let outside it would attack and scare off any sized dog. As a pet it was lovely, it would sit on our laps and liked to be fussed. But we never really trusted it when our first baby son arrived, although it never bothered about him we dare not leave them alone together for a second so gave it away to a friend (the cat that is).
