If they are hungry they go for them, but why chase food, and also (me thinking) i don't think that a fox will kill on his/her patch unless they hungry

I'm sure I've mentioned this before but one morning a couple of years or so ago there was Mr Foxy stood staring at the chooks in their run, chickens being chickens they just stared back:rolleyespink:...
I grabbed a handful of biscuits and got to within 6ft of him...he just stood there so I gave him a lecture:old:...I pointed to the chooks and said "you see those girls there" to which he actually looked at them again and back at me so he must have been listening..." well just you dare and you'll never get another sausage roll from me again":old: I threw him the biscuits, he carefully picked them up and went on his way:thumbsup: hows that for being stark staring bonkers:heehee:

I agree with the food, any animal is going to want the easiest food they can get; why waste valuable energy hunting & catching something when sausage rolls are on the menu? :) better than breaking in & killing chickens. Maybe also dog food? I know hedgies & badgers like dog food, maybe foxes would like it too, being a sort-of wild dog?

I had a comment made whilst out walking Reggie that I must like the hunts, as Reggie's a border terrier. That's not the reason I got one!!

Good afternoon Ellen Border Terrier's don't you just love them:blue thumb::smile:

Given my passion for Border terriers, it comes as no surprise to me to learn that they have become the new dog of choice for celebrities.

Andy Murray has two, called Maggie May and Rusty. His girlfriend Kim Sears posted a picture of them on Twitter wearing Andy’s gold and silver Olympic tennis medals round their necks after his triumphs on Sunday.

Comedian David Walliams has a Border called Bert, who is frequently pictured on nights out to Michelin-starred restaurants and black-tie events alongside Walliams’s model wife Lara Stone.

Walliams has even introduced Bert to Simon Cowell, the Britain’s Got Talent star Pudsey the dog, and Elton John.

The list of celebrities touting Border terriers seems to grow longer by the day: Elton himself has one called Dennis, Bond girl Eva Green is often seen out walking hers, who is called Griffin, while singer Will Young recently took possession of an adorable Border pup called Esme.

We're in good company then @wiseowl ;) we do have some teething problems with him, notably jumping up at anyone he meets, and any and all dogs :) he's also started nipping hands & wanting to play with sleeves! So a work in progress ;) but he's 10 months old. He's just the most fantastic little dog though :)[IMG]

Lovely creature. I have plenty here and although I would like to leave them something to eat I can't as I have chickens and don't want them to get hassled at night!

I thought fox hunting was banned in Britain now?

Yes they aren't allowed to technically hunt a fox but they are allowed to chase a "scent" ....I think there is a lot of illegal hunting though :(
