starts tomorrow and I can't wait :hapfeet:

Being a Scot who's team haven't qualified for a major tournament for many a year I generally follow Holland (ever since Hullit, Rijkaard and van Basten days) and now have France as my 2nd team. I think Argentina will win though. Don't hate England but every time I think maybe I'll get behind them (I lived in England for many years and am married to an Englishman) I hear the fans singing anti-Scottish songs so soon get over that notion :heehee: and generally want them to get beat.

Sooo, who's everyone supporting and who do you think will win?

I won't be watching nor supporting any team.
In fact I don't watch any international sport (for several years now) simply because these days it's all about money, corruption, match fixing and other shenanigans and nothing about the actual sports or teams.
FIFA is probably the worst of the lot.
Just have a watch at the clip below, some very disturbing points raised.
        WARNING: contains strong language.

        @lost_in_france

Sorry to be a party pooper but because of all the under handedness going on, I can't bring myself to watch a game and really get behind it knowing that it could very well be just a big charade and the whole thing is rigged.
It crosses my mind every time a player does some thing really stupid or the ref makes a bad decision.

Not much interested in the normal league football, its a right pain in the arris every Saturday, all those players with names you cant remember or pronounce.

Might have a look in on a the three England games before they go out, but the disappointment will be difficult to bear as usual, I'm guessing.

Do England fans sing anti Scottish songs?
Do Scottish fans sing anti England songs?

Cant say as I've heard it, unless they are perhaps playing one another?

In S. America its likely to be a forgone conclusion, so I'm sure, unless you just like football for the sake of it, its going to be a very boring few weeks.

I just hope it dont wipe out Wimbeldon.

Stupid, so so childish, just trouble makers IMO.

Very troubling film, with all the problems surrounding the building of the stadium, anyone see the monorail collapse on the news last night? dreadfully poor people living around this stadium which has cost billions, I used to really like watching the World cup football, I remember the iconic 1966 match. I feel now that it has got too big and as DIY-Dave said all about money and corruption.
Who do I think will win? I bet it isn't England!!!!

It will be hell for me too:gaah:

There are far more important things going on - the first test starts tomorrow, and as Pete says it'll soon be Wimbledon. MotoGP this weekend too:hapfeet:

It sure looks like it Cjt. Not quite the response I expected but hey it all adds to the debate.

I will be supporting Holland first, as I always do, but with France a close second

I'll be watching the England games and one or two others if they look interesting, Brazil & Argentina might be entertaining. I'm hoping that Spain get thrashed, can't stand their tiki-taka possession rubbish, it's so boring. Will probably have to support Holland as my grandkids are half Dutch.

With the males in my family all being football supporters I'm just thankful I haven't got a television now, I can't stand it! With just the two of us at home my other half watches it on the computer with headphones on. :phew:

Might have something to do with my four brothers: being the youngest (and only girl) when I had a pre-school paddy because they wouldn't let me play, (I was only 4!), they decided to give me, "the best position" ... :hapfeet:... I became their "Official" (not run of the mill :nonofinger:) but, official ....

                ... goal post

Sort of put me off footie a bit: can't imagine why :rolleyespink:
