    I will have to take my camera to where I keep the bees , the water meadow should have some interesting ones hopefully had a huge brimstone the other day .

        Good afternoon What no Butterflies anywhere in the Uk:sofa::lunapic 130165696578242 5:

        There are 100's of these tortoiseshells but no other species as yet here in the Garden of England;)

                  We have to understand the breeding cycle of butterflies as most of the early ones we have seen since spring have either over winter since last year ie Tortoiseshell, Peacock and have only in the past couple of weeks have started to lay eggs and have turned into caterpillars , so from July on-wards we should all start to see more in the garden , with me its typical at the moment , gatekeeper, brimstone , speckled wood, and one or two orange tips floating past normally along the river bank patrolling for the girls !!!

                  So plenty of time to get this thread looking like a butterfly house , we can start with moths as well .

                    There have been a lot more around the garden in the last couple of days, particularly on the verbena bonariensis. :blue thumb:

                      I was out at another nature reserve yesterday but it was so windy butterflies weren't flying.:frown:
