I'd like ideas please on a wilt resistant summer flowering Clematis that doesn't mind part shade. Predominantly white with some colour is preferable. :)

@Sheal , the Polish Nursery Clematis site has a pretty comprehensive database on it . I took the liberty to put in your preferences and results are below . You can change preferences in the search box on the right :dbgrtmb:
Note : the link did not save all the search items , but just add your preferred flowering months , sun or shade level , and colour...................etc

Thanks for the ideas folks, I've had a look at these and they aren't really what I'm looking for so I'll scout around and let you know what I come up with. :)

I bought a Clematis today which isn't in flower at the moment. According to the label it's Sugar Candy 'Evione', I've checked it out on the web and it's showing as predominantly mauve/purple, the label picture shows it as white with deep pink slashes. Now, does anyone know who's telling me fibs please. It'll be going back to the nursery tomorrow!

Taylors Clematis Nursery has it as pink with a deeper stripe down the middle of the sepal. With the pink, large-flowered hybrids, the amount of shade they're growing in affects the colour quite a lot.

Thanks Armandii, they are lovely Clematis :) but I wanted white with a hint of colour and growing to know more than 10ft in height.

I rang the nursery today and the owner assured me the clematis I bought is white with deep pink, similar to 'Nelly Moser'. I've taken his word for it and planted it but if it's not right I'll dig it up and take it back, hopefully I'll see a flower or two in the next few weeks.

You could always use spray paint if all else fails, Sheal!!:heehee:

Most Clematis will do that easily.

Clematis "Sugar Candy"? The images for it are a "little" confusing:dunno:

I'm not sure about the spray paint! :heehee:

I had a good look on the web Armandii and they all seemed to be those colours except one or two I found, hopefully the one I have which is Sugar Candy 'Evione' will be white with pink as the picture label shows. I'll have to wait and see.

It's planted in the semi shade of a tree that's in my neighbours garden and with that restricting sun and light during part of the day I thought white would show better there. :)

With your original description, Sheal, I was thinking of more white than pink, but to me there seems to more of a very light pink background and the pink stripe rather than any real white:dunno:

Hmmmm, time will tell, it's not looking good though is it? I trust my nursery man but you can never be sure with the labels.
