I have loads of green fly on my Buddleia. I have tried wiping them off but they're back just as bad with in a few of days.

I also have black fly on some fatsia I grew from cuttings. The pants are doing really well in pots and it seems it's only the new growth the black fly are attacking. Again I've tried wiping them off but the orrible ikle things keep coming back.

I don't like spraying everything in sight so if I leave them will they do any harm?

I use a home made spray, that seems to serve me well:

    1/2 teaspoon of cooking oil
    1/2 teaspoon washing up liquid
    100mls of water

in a spray bottle, when mixed, spray liberally on the beasties.

100mls of water doesn't seem a lot HG?

My bad, that should have been 1000mls (1 litre) as that is what my bottle holds

Anyways, it works a treat to get rid of 'all' aphids regardless of colour, and I think helps stop them returning.. :blue thumb:
