OK - I am out of vinegar, so does anyone know another solution?

    Get a smaller fridge then!!

All joking aside, they last longer at room temperature and taste better too.

Out of interest I googled it and came up with this. Looks like the spud is your best best out of that lot.

I have taken some ibuprofen for now, which is easing things a bit; I am at that shivery, 'I feel cold' stage most likely due to all the blood rushing to the surface of my torso and chucking heat out left right and centre.

Won't be long and I will head off to bed, see if I can't get some sleep - - its bound to be a bit better in the morning.

OOOh dear Fc. You have got a mild dose of UV sickness and are in for an uncomfortable 24 hours. Drink LOTS of water, fresh air, alight sheet only to cover you - unless you feel cold. Keep the curtains drawn to lower light levels and learn from this unpleasant experience please.
Been there ; done that in Biarritz many mnay moons ago. Can still feel the nausea...
        radiation sickness,

Thanks Jenny - I don't feel nauseas at all, no headache, no nothing apart from skin that looks like a traffic light stuck on red and feeling cold (fingers, toes and nose at the moment); I've been 'water smart' all weekend, and have had pint after pint in the knowledge that I was otherwise knocking seven bells out of myself.

The only other problem is my joints and muscles, but that is nothing to do with the sunburn.

A cool not shockingly cold bath to lower the temp. of burn.
Aloe Vera leaf, split and apply gel inside leaf.
This sounds daft but milk of magnesia or plain yogurt dabbed on skin- again a holiday wise woman remedy!
Loads of fluid tonight not medicinal spirits or caffeine as these will dehydrate you further.
Hope there is something here that helps - your sense of humour will get you through if nothing else, I am sorry I could not help laughing at your description of your injuries! Speedy recovery!

Not too bad this morning thanks, an hour or so of shivering under the duvet gave way to me being red hot (literally) for the rest of the night. Shoulders are the worst, even the weight of my shirt is hurting, but other than that I am fine

Hmmmmmm............... people at work seem to think that I am a messiah! Everytime they ask about my sunburn and ask to get a glimpse at to see how bad they then exclaim 'Jesus Christ!' - - but I am not, I am only fat controller :dunno:

Managed to get through the day with my shirt feeling like it was made of sandpaper, which I have now whipped off and it will stay off for the remainder of the day, with the possible exception of a t-shirt being worn for seat belt purposes when I go to pick Mrs C up from work.

Ive also heard that aloe vera is good for burns or germolene cream has got an anaesthetic in it.
                            Hope it stops hurting soon!

Mrs C brought home a bottle of Soltan Moisturising Soothing Aftersun (none of the aloe vera stuff left in stock, so I am apparently not the only eejit around here this weekend ) - anyway, after my shower it has been sprayed on and gently rubbed in and the relief is almost instant.

I smell like the inside of a tart's handbag, but at least I am not in as much pain.
