I did this a few years ago very handy, but Oh No, I've just had my first alert for my area  and I've planted some toms outside this year as I grew too many :wallbanging:

In addition to my own postcode area, I registered for alerts in those postcode areas immediately to the North, South, East and West, just to check out what might be coming my way.

Yes I did the same as well, all the ones surrounding me.

I've not had any alerts since the last one 10 days ago but I guess that is down to all the dry weather we are now having. I have my spray all ready to go if I get another alert.

Not had any alerts for months now, that can only be a good thing :)

I think I have early blight on a pot of Roma tomatoes. They have gone in the bin.

PS Do I get a prize for being first? :gaah:

Seems a rather harsh reaction to early blight?

....I have a lot of tomatoes and these particular ones were expendable plums crammed into a pot.

I'm certainly no expert on this but it does seem to match the pictures. Had the same problem last year. Starts off as sunken brown patches on stem, which later become more obviously fungal patches that trash the stems. Also quite large spots on a few of the older leaves with a yellow halo. Seems like nothing to worry about for a couple of weeks then suddenly the plant collapses quickly. That was happening to one of the plants today. It happened last year and I lost the plants and most of the unripe fruit on them developed problems and rotted after I took it off the plants.

I do have lots of different tomato varieties and it can't be that contagious, as the infected pot was right next to a bag of pink fir apple potatoes that are fine and dandy. And my other tomatoes were 5m away.

Afraid I got the plants into the green bin ASAP and they aren't coming out again for a photo!

What fungicide should I use for prevention on the rest? (I'm not particularly an organic person and have an old hand-held pressure sprayer.)

Thanks. Funnily enough I got a bottle of that rband Bordeaux mixture this afternoon. Will do them as soon as there's no risk of it all immediately being washed off by rain.
