What do members think about this fertilizer? Whenever I shake it up with some water, hot or cold, some white granules never disolve. Also please what about the hosepipe sprayer. Does it work?

I've used it for years in a alternate weekly feed for pots and my Toms and never had trouble with it not dissolving to be honest.:dunno::snork:

Cant say I've ever really looked to see if it all dissolves, I usually just chuck a spoonful or so into the watering can and give it a stir.

I treasure my infrequent donations of MG! A fraction of the price of French fertilisers and verrry effective. Did use one of the hosepipe-type distributors in the UK but wasn't very impressed.

Me too, I bring it back in large quantities whenever I go to the UK. And their compost too for my planters at the moment as it's on special offer at Homebase.

Lucky you, Eve:) I'm resigned to paying a ridiculous amount for small bags of chopped-up vegetable waste:sad: It's sad the way formerly healthy plants go yellow and sickly as soon as they're planted into it. All those fortunate souls in the UK don't realise how easy it is to garden there;)

What a shame Noisette. Our local garden centre does sell decent compost but it's pretty expensive and I try to wait till they've got an offer on.

I used MG liquid concentrate up too two years ago. I changed to powder Phostrogen following on of GCs costing posts , as powder fertiliser works out cheaper. I have never tried MG powder , is their any difference to Phostrogen ? or are they all pretty much similar ?

Flipping heck! I wonder why that should be?

Ah ... the 1KG Refill Pack (now I look at it more carefully) ships from USA ("In stock, but delivery may take up to 2 weeks" - HaBlinkingHa!). and the folk selling the 2KG one, at EUR 25.08, is AP Motor Store (car stuff mainly Ho!Hum!) in ... wait for it .... <DrumRoll!!> .... Mirfield, West Yorkshire :heehee:

Trying to navigate Amazon FR, just now, using my rusty schoolboy French :) and I got to "Garden". Interesting sub topics, all the usual stuff like BBQs, Plants, Pools & Jacuzzis etc. and ...

... "Thermometers and external meteorological instruments" - a whole section specifically for that? I thought it was the English that talked about the weather the whole time!!

How about you and I set up a Merchant Store on Amazon FR? You write the French bit, I'll source and ship the goods? Millionaires by Christmas - my favourite never-come-true motto :heehee:

Now that's a good idea! Just been to Homebase and 2kg Miracle Gro on special offer at £7.12 and 50l M Gro-bags at 2 for a tenner. I stocked up as it would be rude not to.

Thanks for the offer, Kristen:) I used to get a friend to clear the shelves when Wilkos sold off their gardening stuff, ready to bring over. Will check out the internet from now on, but if ever you're heading over with a lorry full of cheap, good, peat-based....you'll be very, very welcome:)

How much do you use? If you could take a whole pallet load (30-ish bags I would guess) it might be worth contacting a trade supplier like LBS. Their Delivery Info pages says "For Scottish Highland ... and overseas please call for a carriage quote on 01282 873333". You'd get a year's supply of Miracle Gro on the pallet without any problem!!
