Does the bad word filter only work after you posted a reply, as when i write bad words in the reply box they don't change?? (just trying and not going to post the words)

 

Yes, its on display only. If you re-edit the original message they are still there (from memory). I expect it needs to be this way so that Admins can add words "after the fact" if they see them being used, and from then on they are censored on-display [including messages created earlier]

You can now optionally disable profanity filter from usercp > preferances

Please note this doesn't allow you to post unfiltered profanity, rather it allows you to see the posts unfiltered.

The default however for everyone is profanity filtered.

Ermm ... is the description a bit user-hostile? Dunno if that is easily changed though.

Since we probably have profanity contents in your board, they would be filtered by default. By enable this option, you would be able to see them.

 

yeah am trying to think of a description thats better, its easy to change, (creator isn't an english speaker so often things worded harshly as i believe he uses a software to translate)

if someone can suggest a better description i will swap it around
