In the Spring I ordered 3 bare root Waltz time Roses all labelled ...with them came the special offer of 3 free Roses...Betty Uprichard,White Symphony and another Waltz time only snag was the 3 free Roses weren't labelled so I potted them up and have waited for them to flower so I know which is which...

The 3 'waltz Time' that I planted are nice Roses but don't look anything like the Mauve coloured Roses I ordered ,these are Pink ...I'm curious to see if anyone else has a photo of their Waltz time just to compare..
As for the 3 freebies,I've been able to identify one as White Symphony for obvious reasons but the two remaining Roses one of which hasn't flowered yet is either Betty Uprichard or Waltz Time. Now here's where it gets confusing, the Rose that is coming into flower definitely isn't WT and nor does it look like BU...I'm waiting for the last one to bloom to see what colour it's going to be:rolleyespink:....I'll be informing the company as it has certainly been a lucky dip:rolleyespink:

Out of interest here's a pic of what the company claimed to be either Betty Uprichard or Waltz time:scratch: there's obviously been a mix up...

Ooh, I had the same deal with the same company Loli. Only problem was I got them delivered to my dad's, they came late so I'd gone back to France when they arrived and they sat in their boxes for over 3 weeks as he wasn't very well and didn't do anything with them. They looked dead by the time I got them but I still planted them anyway, smothered in rose food and compost and a liberal sprinkling of Miracle gro and 4 of them are in leaf now. No buds yet so I can't tell you what colour they are but will let you know as soon as they do. The other two are in pots but not doing anything yet - scraped the bark of the main stem and it's showing green so there's still a bit of hope yet.

I'm a little confused too. When I see something like this my first reaction is that it's virused...............

I'm still waiting for the last unlabelled Rose to flower so what that will be is anyones guess:rolleyespink: that particular one was the only one that came covered in wax..
The three 'freebies' I can let pass, not without a mention to them though but the three full paid up 'Waltz Time' ,a word needs to be had..

Thanks. So in roses the blotchiness/streakiness is not viral and should remain stable?
I must admit that my thoughts are based on the virus found in Tulips and Tricyrtis.

Words should always be had as a lot of the time it is just a genuine cock-up!

Without words the company doesn't know what rate of cock-up they have which needs fixing :) Others would like to know the frequency too :) - hence I think online feedback sites are helpful (particularly ones which are 3rd party, but supported by the company, as the company will encourage everyone to provide feedback - otherwise only the negative feedback is provided - on sites unsupported by the supplier)
