Hey all! I'm looking for a new nursery to have a browse around or a good garden centre. I love just browsing and looking at all the plants to get ideas as to what to do next.
I live in Mold in North East Wales, will travel within a 40 minute radius from here, so if you know any good ones I'd be grateful.

Total no brainer this one - Crug Farm!

Not sure how close it is, but it's in North Wales. People visit it from all over the UK.

Take out a bank loan if you go though, prices are staggering.
Keith Lever at Aberconwy is great.
Hall Farm at Vicarage Lane Kinnerley near Oswestry have nice plants.
and of course The Dingle Garden Centre in Welshpool (they have two close to each other).

Is Crug that good? It's just over 60 miles away so not really near. And are the prices that bad?
A customer in work recommended a place called Premier Plants in Ledsham to me, quite impressed with it tbh. Spent about £90 on plants but got loads!

Were these plants perennials or Bedding out? We go to Gordale quite often and see the sign for Premier Plants on the way back to the Motorway. Not usually got the time to go and find it.

          Yes!

No. Base that answer on the fact that you'll only find their plants there or at a handful of other nurseries. Everything that I've bought from there has been very good.

:hate-shocked: Never spent that in my life in one hit!

Yes. Dunno about "worthwhile to visit" though, as I have not been there. However, their mail order shipping charge is high, so if there is something you want (seen in their online shop, for example) then collecting would save some money.

If you want a rare / unusual plant then No.

          Otherwise Yes :heehee:

Perennials, biennials, bedding plants, and evergreens. Bought all sorts, they have all sorts! It's not as high class as Gordale, in terms of the building, cafe etc, but the plants are excellent and good value in my opinion.
Literally if you were at the lights at the cross, Mini garage on your right, and old Honda on your left. You'd turn left here for Gordale, well carry on instead, and take the next right further up. It's just down that road. Well worth the visit.

Have/had a lot of empty space to fill. I've grown a lot from seed, but there's still things I want or things that caught my eye. Thoroughly enjoyed sitting out in my garden in the sun today admiring them, well worth it for me :)

Crug Farm definately well worth a visit.
Their delivery charges are very high. Otherwise I would put in an order with them.

Go via Aberconwy and Bodnant if you have time.
Will take a look in Premier if we have time, next time we go to Parkgate for an ice cream. Thanks

Bridgemere Nursery and Garden World in Nantwich Cheshire is exactly an hour from you according to Google, its a huge place with an extensive stock of plants and gardens to walk round.

We went to Bridgemere yesterday and bought..............nothing. The majority of the plants were in very poor condition and extremely expensive. £9.99 for a pot of very ordinary Sedum. Other plants (herbaceous) were up to £14.99 in price.

            Yikes :hate-shocked:

That's such a shame :frown:, used to be really good and competitively priced too
