    Which one do you use Nick?

    The individual flowers aren't up to much, but the overall effect of the spikes is fantastic and it's a really good doer! I had S.nemorosa at my last house and wish that I'd lifted it now.

    For general stuff, lechlade garden centre - there is an increasing amount of non-gardening tat, particularly for the six months of Christmas but its normally got something interesting. If im going past I will pop into Bampton Garden Plants, particularly for lavender, if Im really in the mood to spend some cash theres always Millets Farm but its crazy busy there at the weekends & that just puts me in the wrong mood.. Any recommendations that Ive missed ? I sometimes drive past Steventon Rare plants but its never open when I've got time to stop.
    Ill probably take some cuttings at some point - Ill do a couple more for you if I remember.

    Marcham garden centre is worth a look - has some less common plants (tender and exotic).

    Burford garden centre is worth a look when the sale is on (usually end of August) as they do some cracking reductions.

    Bit of a trek for you as it's the other side of Oxford, but the Good Value Plant Nursery at Bunkers Hill is certainly worth a look.

    Sad about Lechlade garden centre. Some days it's almost full of day trippers. But it is good for bulbs (especially in the autumn).

    Thanks!

            @Jenny namaste
            I have had a couple of goes at this one and lost it due to the weather. This one is now in it's third summer although the slugs had a good go at it and finished off one strong shoot. I'm hoping it is now a permanent resident. As I do like the colour.

            @NigelJ - I've always found Black and Blue bombproof, although it needs to be in a spot where the ground catches the low early season sun. Only to kick them back into life sensibly early.
            Salvia forreri looks good. Is it a low growing spreader?

            Salvia forreri is a low growing spreader, it runs underground and then pops up. Easily controlled though. I bought it as S arizonica.

              @NigelJ ; S.microphylla is just such a good doer! Do you have the white form?
              The unknown blue one looks outstanding!
