They were lucky if they were a foot tall:sad:...I've dug them up all but one row ,thought it best to get rid of the foliage as it was looking more drastic by the hour but I was pleasantly surprised to see a good few decent potatoes.Thinking on I should maybe have left them in the ground and just got rid of the foliage but they've been shared out now and eaten...

I've just seen Monty dig his up and plant some sweet corn,I mightdirect a few more and plant up the leeks I've got left over then pray for a long summer:rolleyespink:

His had been been in more than 3 months (dunno how that compares with yours?)

I was surprised to see him planting out Sweetcorn so late . In his case he was planting it behind a, now passed-its-best, crop of Rocket. I really ought to plant that early as I think it comes early enough for the Hungry Gap?

I can't believe Monty has sown some sweetcorn this late too:rolleyespink:...I can't see mine coming to much but worth a go...

They were plants ... but not all that big ... I reckon that you need to be planting [outdoor] ones on the first sensible warm period after last frost (so lets say 1st June to be charitable!) to get a crop around end August / September.

Mind you, he's only a month behind that ... so End September / October might be on the cards?

Last week I had a walk around Helmsley Walled garden and came across their Charlotte potatoes, looks like they had the same problem as me..I couldn't find anyone to speak to about them though ...
