We've got a load of seeds from the Hellebore bagged up and ready for you - if you want them. Mrs Shiney will do the box cutting at the last minute.

I did wonder why you were using a spade to deadhead shiney's plants :)

We've got a few of these (self-planted) and they're certainly working at breaking all records. This one is the biggest so far and has just topped 10ft high

                Verbascum Thapsus

(Great Mullein or any of its dozens of common names - Beggar's Blanket, Aaron's Rod etc.)
Although I'm sure some of you would say that, with all the things I say on here, Old Man's Flannel is more appropriate :roflol:

My Acanthus mollis has leaves that are almost a metre long including the stalk, 60/70cm of leafy leaf bit!

They are big for the situation in which one uses Rodgersia though :) I've just added Rodgersia hercules to my collection ... hopefully I'll find that it is a monster :)

Although maybe its just the height / flower height that is big? Either way, I liked the description of the leaves in the catalogue and did the whole IWOOT thing !!

I also have Rodgersia pinnata 'Chocolate Wing' and Rodgersia pinnata 'Superba' which are lovely too.

@Kristen ...The flowers are 'nice' but it's the foliage that does it for me,I could live without the flowers personally.Mine are still fairly young plants so maybe they become more impressive with age but they are a cracking plant for an otherwise 'awkward' growing position..loving the look of the 'Hercules'...:doh:where can I plant one:biggrin:

I have just ordered a Rheum from Constantine.

Not quite sure what came over me with that one
It's not like I have the space.

At the moment it's dormant. But will hopefully get going soon.
