      Holly well and truly scalped. I'm exhausted from clinging to the trunk like a koala sawing left-handed at branches almost out of reach. Just got to take the remains to the tip now.

        So i have a different garden to tend to this week

        Think its going to keep me busy.

        I trimmed back a bush today to remove all the leaves that had powdery mildew

        I have removed lots of bramble from the back of one of the borders

        And tidied up another brush and trained the chocolate vine back onto the trellis from off the bush it was growing on instead.

        Tomorrow i will be removing more bramble and tidying up the plants around the path and tying in and re training some of the climbers

        I basically have free reign for the week to do what i want except for buying more plants lol

          Dodging showers, I gave the gooseberry bushes a trim, tied up everything that was drooping and planted out the last of the gazanias. Not used to this wet stuff falling on me when I'm trying to work

          Spent some more time trying to find and resolve leaks - think I am getting there, but I still have one where it appears to be running down the doors, into the bottom track and then somehow making its way through to the inside.

          I have drilled a few drain holes directly downward in the bottom door track which appears to help, but there is still some ingress that I will need to tackle with sealant when I get some more (ran out today).

          Forgot to post this photo the other day after I had put up a hanging basket - makes it look that bit more 'finished' I think:

          Today was spent tying up cucumbers, evicting some of the really straggly tomatoes that aren't going to come to anything, chucked a few plants out into the borders to replace ones that have been devoured by the local slug and snail population - and put pellets down to hopefully get the replacements to be able to flower, and then watered everything.

            The shed's looking good FC! :dbgrtmb: Those side panels and over the door are crying out for some sort of decoration, are you arty? Or perhaps some plaque type ornaments. :)

                Never seen gel rooting pots before Jenny :scratch: Is this your first go with them?
                If they are as easy peasy as they look and do the job ... I think I can salvage some more cuttings! Where did you find them, please?

                I had salvia plants a few years ago, they came rooted in that gel. I'm sure you could mix it up yourself though.

                They used to be "everywhere", gone out of fashion now it seems. I used them quite a bit for harder to root things and they worked well. Also good for folk that don't do many cuttings - don't need to get the potting mix right, or have hormone rooting powder "in the cupboard, and not stale" :)

                  Can the gel pots be used more than once (without a refill)? Otherwise it seems a bit expensive unless you just have a little to do.
