    This has just flowered, I thought it was a type of aloe until I saw the flower now not sure. Help appreciated.

      It can survive outside in a mild Winter as long as it doesn't get too wet at the roots.

        That's useful I may well try the offset outside. I have a sunny well drained raised bed and it will be interesting to see how it does there. I already have Aloe striatula growing happily there.
