I've only seen a couple of butterflies here but come late August/September my Sedums will probably be covered in them. :)

This was the only one that stayed still (very windy) during my walk along a lane to the sea, a Speckled Wood

On my return, I ate my lunch sitting on a picnic bench next to a large Buddleia, but only one old ragged Red Admiral alighted on it. Other butterflies appeared more interested in the grassy area around it.

Seems as good a thread as any to mention I keep a kiddies fishing butterfly net in every greenhouse and polytunnel, so I can rescue all the butterflies, bees, etc., that can't find their own way out.

Large Skipper? (forgot to re-set -/+ exposure, then battery died) Saw 2 of these and about a dozen Meadow Browns (that all tried to lead me into bramble patches) this morning at the plot.

Meadow Brown. I've had a wander and found a place where there's hundreds of them.

Rescued several Meadow Browns from polytunnels today, watched loads trying to lure me into bramble patches, then one settled in the gateway as I was leaving the plot.

Went to the plot and then blackberrying in a local field and saw 2 Large Skippers, 1 Brimstone, lots of Ringlets and dozens of Meadow Browns (who were all very interested in one another), but I haven't seen any Red Admirals, Tortoiseshells or Peacocks for ages, and there's still no butterflies on any of the local Buddleias.
