A day off from work and family needs, so I drove to my Sister in Wem, Shropshire and took her with her new dog to the Dog Rescue to sign all the paper work and pay her dues. Then it was a visit to the Country Rose Nursery just outside Shrewsbury for lunch [and didn't even buy a rose:hate-shocked::heehee:]...........all in glorious sunshine and blue skies. My weather station recorded 78f when I got back home and the clouds were starting to appear in greater numbers but it's still 76f outside!!! :hapfeet::yes::snork:

We had a big electrical storm just after 3 a.m. :hate-shocked:. Lots of big flashes of lightning, very heavy thunder and a big downpour - and our power went out. So I went out for a wander round the garden by torchlight (should have taken my soap out with me :heehee:).

I stacked the cushions that are on the chairs under the pergola and put a weight on then as the wind was blowing pretty hard. The rain felt quite warm and the temperature was still 73F (23C).

The local weather station said it reached 30C yesterday and to expect 33C today.

After the storm and then a couple of hours of very heavy rain we now have bright sunshine and the temperature has already hit 75F (24C).

Looks as though I'll need to take my brolly with me when I go out tonight.
