Did we have a storm last night? I ask as I woke up to find half of one of my Acanthus clumps flattened....................

As you can see, they're not tiddlers or flimsy....................

It was inevitable really as I spent an hour watering.

I woke at 3.00am with the winds howling outside but thought I was dreaming and was out like the light

Sorry to hear about your Acanthus plants Longk as they look like they were well grown plants. We have seen loads of them in flower this week but I could only think of the name I know them by and that is Bears Breeches:biggrin:

We had a cracker of a storm around 2am - only lasted 20 minutes really, but by hokey it was violent

I was up during the storm as the dogs got a bit excited. It certainly went for it didn't it?

Blimey I don't know how you slept through it, there was so much lightening it was like a stroboscope indoors through the curtains - and constant thunder.

Despite being a chronic insomniac, once I'm asleep that's it! The only thing that could ever wake me was a fully loaded VC 10 taking off from Brize in damp air.

Blimey - is that your alarm clock?

*Note to self: longk is eating away at our military budget just to get up in the morning!* :heehee:

I don't need an alarm clock! It just happens.

As far as the VC 10's go, they are no more:frown: I think that is sad.

Looking at the radar, it looks like it turned east just before it got to us. Shame, because this humid air needs something to break it.
