Still raining, with liberating freshness, here FC (well, it is if you are standing outside - probably not if you are indoors ... or worse - atop a duvet/mattress tossing and turning!)

I've got the French doors wide open at the moment, and there is a very light breeze coming in laden with the scent from the lillies, but that is about it.

I am just heading to bed in the next few mins (got a 0700-2100 shift tomorrow and again on Sunday, so need my beauty sleep), so will likely spend the night wriggling about due to the heat.

And as I type, it is starting to rain.

    Sleep easy, FC.

If it's any help (at all!) when I was heavily pregnant with my youngest son (an August baby) I spent, practically, the final month of my pregnancy sleeping on a sun lounger, parked by an open patio door, because the heat was so debilitating and sleep so desperately needed!

Maybe pull your chair nearer to those open French doors and have a bit more success at sleep?

We had a thunderstorm here last night. I only knew about it because Timmy (dog who is terrified of thunder) shot into the bedroom and landed on my head :doggieshmooze: Then I heard the rumble of thunder but went back to sleep.

I had watered everything yesterday evening but not as deeply as normal cos I knew water was on its way.

Quite a big thunder and lightening storm around here about 3am . I got up to turn the computer off - I have had a monitor burnt out in a previous storm a few years back .
A big storm , but not overhead where the thunder crack makes you jump . It was Molly's first thunder storm , didn't bother her at all , she just rolled over to have her tummy tickled :doggieshmooze:
PS: Molly is our Cocker not Mrs H

I'm not happy with the rain NOW as I have a load of stuff to get on with. It should only rain overnight.
But the damage yesterday morning indicates a fair bit of wind Thursday night?

That's perfect - bits out and all that and I sleep like a log. I hate being covered up.

Same here @longk , I need to fit a new pond pump this morning , and the rain radar shows lots on its way. I know I'll just get everything set up round the job and the heavens will open !

I got a load of firewood from a building site yesterday. It needs cutting in half before it will go into the cellar or through the house to the garden.

Leave it till after the lightning, you'll know if it's been hit as there will be dead Koala Bears around the trunk.

Strange how things happen ... last Sunday we woke up to find two trees flattened .... one in the woodland and one up by the waterfall. None of could recall any sort of wind during the night .... but SOMETHING had to have happened. Maybe a small localised TYPHOON :)

Started thundering and lightning here about 2.30 this morning, it was like a tropical storm here, and its still raining and I've loads of job's to do outside.
Forecast is for a storm again here about 14.00 this afternoon.

No storm here last night. I was driving home at 1am and the sky was clear, the car thermometer was reading 16C and it was so humid. However today's a different kettle of fish, woke to fog and it's been drizzling since. A storm is promised but I can't see that materialising at present.
