Weird though isn't it that we all nurture the tricky things. ..like I do here in the tropics, I'm so excited when my Wisteria gives me 15 flowers...whereas yours will be smothered! :-)

Whilst we cant compete with that, we dont do too badly in the UK if we get a bit of sun:

Not bad for something that started out as a stick-inna-pot a couple of months ago..

That's very true. But then again, what would be the point if it was all easy?

I'd be happy with easy ... just so long as everyone else thought it was hard :)

They usually fall off of their own accord.

The blooms themselves will fall off, but they often leave the flower stem and casing behind. So I just bend the flower stem back close to its point of origin from the foliage stem. It will break off cleanly.

Mine is just teasing me at the moment - loads of flower buds that are getting bigger by the day, but still haven't burst into bloom yet.

Looks very bushy? (flowers may be hidden when they open?) and a bit chlorotic - are you feeding it enough? ("enough" would be "excessively" as I am sure you know :) )

Morgensonne. Pictures on the internet suggest that it should be darker at the bottom of the flower. Perhaps that will develop in a day or two - I think this is my first flower from this plant.

Dark Rosetta starts off a paler colour and gets darker with time.

Whilst both of the above named varieties are nice, I am beginning to believe that named varieties are really no better than some of the unnamed ones that I have grown from seed.

:) Hello Peter. I just love the Dark Rosetta. Sadly, you only see the creamy white, yellow or pink here.

I was laying on my back to get this shot.
But it still dont give the full impact, and of course the scent.

Just out of interest, this is a cutting taken of "Grand marnier" last summer, its flowered well before the parent plant for some reason.

Victoria - I am afraid to say that the picture of Dark Rosetta is slightly misleading. Its not really as good looking as that. It starts off pale green, then becomes pale pink and gets darker as it ages. I think the deep colour the picture shows just means it is about to die. Most of the time it was a pink that was no better than my seed grown ones.

However, one thing that I have learnt is that the colour of most Brugmansias is not a constant. They often start very pale green and get darker with age. I also believe that they get darker in hotter weather. In a cold summer the colours can be quite pale.
