@Sheal ..They're growing in Homebase MP which didn't look great to be fair but other varieties in the GH are plodding on but not as well as previous years.I started feeding on Tomorite but switched to comfrey tea seen as I had plenty..It's time I toppped the pots up which I usually do to give them a bit more to chew on...
Daft question alert.......Re Comfrey tea..I'm using last years which was bottled ...does it loose it's strength?

          Hiya Loli.
When did you switch from the Tomorite to the Comfrey?

A photo of my tomato house earlier today, at the far end are the Tomtatoes (potato/tomato grafted plants) which look very similar if a little smaller:

I've picked my first Golden Pearl tonight @Sheal , it was lovely tasting, similar to Sungold but it looks like it will have double the yield going by the size of the flower trusses, this is it below, half way up to the apex of the g.house now:

If "pressed" rather than "steeped" it won't stink.

I'm not sure how well "steeped" will keep (although I have no evidence that it won't keep ... ) whereas "pressed" is definitely supposed to keep - other than the lack of smell a key reason for doing that is to bottle the concentrate so you have some early next season.

You need a pipe / tube, and a heavy weight, to compress the leaves in the tube, and then a "tap" at the bottom to draw off the concentrate. (Google will no doubt provide a better description, and probably YouTubes, than I have done)

That has made me giggle Lolimac re: last years bottled comfrey ...

Loli: Would sir like the house 2014 feed this evening?
Tomato: No, absolutely not! Sir would like a Comfrey vintage 2013!
                    Loli: Very good Sir.

Sorry to poke fun Loli ;)

After the first couple of weeks feeding Freddy:thumbsup:

                      @JWK ..Looking great:love30:

                      I do the 'steep' method:eeew:
When I'm feeling brave I occasionally take the lid off and give it a stir:eeew: then :runforhills:..

I did promise myself this year I'd put it in a sack first to save straining it,same with the nettles but didn't:doh:..Last years bottled still has that familiar aroma but is far more bearable:thumbsup:

                          Hiya @Lolimac

Yes, but when was that? Did the plants start to show signs of stress some time after you switched feed? I think I'm right in saying that Comfrey is a high potash feed. Maybe the plants are lacking a bit of Nitrogen?
