P1050230.JPG amusing watching this bee - as fast as she sat on it , the flower buckled under her weight and she had to take off again.....:heehee:

I think that this is the Speckled wood butterfly, but it was cunningly sitting above the prickly hedge so I couldnt get a good look:

@ARMANDII , I'm viewing your piccies above in the dim evening light and they are brilliant - the glow is amazing - especially that last one,

Is that a Pied Wagtail Woo? I can't tell from the back view. A lovely picture! :)

Seeing your picture of the flies I've noticed there's not many of those around this year either, not that I'm complaining.

My shots are rather blurred but I wanted to grab the shots before they went away. We, suddenly, had a rush of dozens of birds in the garden. They were everywhere. On the patio, in the shrubs and trees, wrens in the hanging baskets and all types of birds on and around the feeders.

We have four drinking bowls that are filled to different levels and each bird has its favourites. So do the cats! We hadn't got around to filling the bowls this morning when the hoards arrived. The water goes down very quickly. Mainly due to evaporation and to birds bathing in them.

All photos were taken through the kitchen window and the bird feeders are 60ft away.
