Depending on how warm the spring is about very late April into May I know its the last shrub to get leaves on , lichen always like to grow on this as well.

Thanks! Not bad for a tippy toe shot.

I lost E.bicolor over the winter (I assume that it drowned!) and once again Oakhurst refuses to flower.

Lots! I forgot to post Salvia "Black and Blue" which is starting to look good....................

                    Loath most of them:dunno:

And I especially hate anything with daisy-like flowers! Yet I see beauty in some things that others think are pug ugly.

Nowt so fickle as folk as the saying goes.

Thanks Keith, the Buddleja is hardy to -5, however some say if planted in well drained soil its hardy to -10, so I suspect it resents sitting in cold wet ground over winter. I was unfortunate to break a piece of it a few weeks ago but did manage to get a couple of cuttings from it, one of which has rooted already :)

I recently planted a young Sambucus Black Lace which has just come into flower - bizarrely as I know that's really late! You'll see I have a tiny problem, that the younger leaves appear to stay green for a very long time before finally changing to the deep purple. I don't suppose you know if that is just something a young plant does or if it's a lack of something? It's in full sun for most of the day, enough to wilt sometimes.

                              10592653_10154476688890245_5010721374842264015_n.jpg

Anyway, I have quite a few things that I think look good at the moment but I they're a tad mundane for this thread. But, the one thing I am quite proud of is finally getting one of my new Monarda Cambridge Scarlet's to flower. It's all on its own at the moment but the flower is huge :) Next year hopefully it'll be clumpier with more flowers

MooPoo!!! There is always somebody who is interested.

My experience of Monarda is thus - if it is not happy you'll not see it again, but if it is happy it'll become downright invasive! I wish that I could get it invasive here...................
