The birds were taking a quick opportunity to get some peanuts. Usually the feeder is always occupied by woodpeckers. The woodies usually take it in turns to use it.

This reminds when I rescued one a couple of years ago , it was so thin I had to put the food in its mouth for 3 days , I rang the pigeon rescue and gave them the number and they gave me the owners number to ring which I did but he lived so far away I kept it for 6 weeks and it wanted to fly out of the cage so I let her out early the next morning, following day the guy that owned it rang me up to tell me she had got home safely that was 150 miles not bad

Bad news from Geordie land, the Swallows seem to have deserted us. Downhill all the way now until next spring

They left them behind, Ziggy, as they were hard to swallow:dunno::snork:

That's a bit pessimistic, Robin!!! You might suffer from the cold winds off the North Sea and your growing seasons might start a bit later, and finish a little than us in in West Cheshire but there's plenty of Summer left for the both of us!!!:hapfeet::hapydancsmil:

It's probably one of my brother's! Once they have fed themselves up they usually make for home......well most do. We are in the middle of the racing season at the moment so if anyone manages to get hold of a bird and can read or photograph it's rings I will contact my brother for you and he will trace it. :)
