            Only watering and feeding here lately - been tying myself in knots designing a fairly huge database. Anyway, things don't look too bad (if a little scruffy)

            This is the shadier side of the garden where the buddleia tree used to be - - think I prefer it without the tree!

            And this is the other side, which I am quite disappointed in this year. A lot of stuff seems to be straining its neck to get the sun around the rhody that is just visible on the left. Methinks the rhody is going to get a bit of a haircut (although how hard can one be with a rhody?)

                  Today I spent my day off at our caravan in Much Wenlock cracking on with the garden there. Built a bench, a storage box, planted up 3 planters with Cornus alba, strimmed, edged, weeded and watered. Need to get started on the borders soon but I'm not looking forward turning over metres and metres of clay though! Got quite a few plants already to start the planting off, namely 2 eucalyptus trees ( I'll add them to the wooded area!), olive trees, bamboo, grasses, ferns, gunnera, Salix, houtinnia, cerifera, fatsia and euonymus. I need something that will take care of themselves mainly as we'll not be always there.

                        Cut back the geraniums that were creeping across the path to the front door, swept the path properly. Then, dead heading the tubs ( found a wadge of dead lobelia hiding...:oopss:) and removing tatty pelargonium heads . Removing a lot of tomato plant leaves( potential sails) and putting in ties to all of the patio ones so that the smaller plants in the front are tied to the back ones which are secured to the trellis. Trying to prepare for the tail end of Hurricane Bertha on Sunday. Too much fruit there to risk losing the potential harvest ....:sofa:

                                Cutting back the Russian vine. Again. I seriously hate this, it's just green! The OH likes it though, unfortunately... I'm planning on slowly cutting it back & letting a small clematis take it's place... he'll never know ;)
