    Here we go with what is sure to be lots of questions I will have as a very novice gardener . I have in a couple of half barrels some Ornamental Sage "SensationDeep Rose" id say a good 99% of the purple flowers have now gone a browny colour and it says on label to cut back stems after flowering which is ok BUT HOW MUCH do i cut them back please ?????

    Usually cutting down the flower spikes to the base of the leaves is enough.

    Forgive my stupidness but do you mean where flower ends and leaves start ??
