    Hi my name is Chris

    I am from Maltby, Rotherham, South Yorkshire

    I found this site whilst searching for info on allotments, in my area

    I really like gardening, but I only have a small front garden so veggies are not really feasible, I have an OK sized rear yard, but if I put any plants out here the dogs will probably wreck them

    So I am looking for an allotment, in Maltby

    I am a guy & I am 30 years old, I work for KFC as a Crew Member, I also volunteer at a local charity shop on a Saturday, as a Retail Assistant

    I live with my wife & we have 3 dogs & 7 cats

    So that's really all, I think

        Hi Chris, welcome to Gardeners Corner. If you do manage to get a plot in Malby then there are plenty of Allotment holders and Veg growers who will be more than willing to give you advise and encouragement. Even the Webmaster has just got an Allotment and has been clearing it and planning on what he's going to do with it.
        And I thought I was doing well to have 2 cats!!:cat-kittyandsmiley::doggieshmooze::heehee:

          Yeah, we did have 3, then 1 went missing & we never found her :frown:, then the mother-in-law had to move out of her house, so could not keep her 2, so we had them, that made 4, then a few weeks ago my dad said that my step-sister could not keep her 2 cats, so we had them & that made 6, and then today a lady I work with at the charity shop came to my house, and asked if I would take in one of the other ladies kittens, as she was allergic, so that makes 7, lol

            I got my first one [Sally - only one eye] when buying my brother a cat. He lived up in the Wilds of Derbyshire and unfortunately his cat managed to get run over despite living on a farm. He got another cat [Jenny] and then fell ill so I took care of it at my house while he was in Hospital. Then when he got out of Hospital he decided he couldn't manage a cat so I took it on. My two cats are both tolerate each other but aren't bosom pals so there's a Cat fight every now and then. So with you having got cats in stages how do they get on with each other.....never mind the dogs!!

                Yeah cat fights are quite common in my house, at the moment, but most of them tolerate each other

                The dogs are OK with them, but some of the cats don't really like the dogs, though

                Dogs (Lab/Cocker Spaniel (Black), Benji, German Shepherd/Staffie (looks like a dingo), Zeus & Staffy/Lab (Black), Wilson)

                Cats (All domestic shorthair (as far as I know) 3 black (Oli, Milo & Abi), 2 black & white (Fiji & Lucky), 1 is kinda black, white & grey (Charlie) & 1 Tabby (Nykki)

                  That's quite a house full! :) I've got one of each, a 1 year old Border Terrier called Reggie & an 8 year old tabby/white girl called Mischief :)

                      Welcome to GC Chris:dbgrtmb: until the times comes for you to get your allotment you could always grow a few things in hanging baskets like tomatoes and salad leaves and maybe Strawberries in wall troughs,I know it's late for this year but worth thinking about for next...:thumbsup:
