Tried the Gardener's Delight, still don't like it much. Sungold and Rosada are delicious as usual. Others aren't ready yet. They are all in the greenhouse this year as I got so fed up with wilt in Wiltshire (well named county) but most people on the allotments say they always grow outside, and there is no sign of wilt in the plots I have looked at. Something to do with city air, maybe?

'Golden Pearl' have excelled themselves again, oh so sweet with a mild flavour and so easy to eat as sweets! I'm disappointed with 'Gardeners Delight' this year, a rather sharp flavour. I've grown them for many years but will give them a miss next year and try something else. I've grown 'Shirley' for the first time and still yet to taste those. I came home today to find a truss had snapped off with a dozen large green toms on it, I'm hoping they'll ripen indoors.

I picked an Indigo Rose - black yes but nowhere near ripe. Pithy, green and virtually no juice or seeds. I wonder whether they will ripen enough this year,

                      In my order of preference.
Out of 10 where 10 is the best.
Taste : Yield (Crop) : Earliness (ripening)

Sungold 10 : 8 : 9 Cherry Orange Sweet, tangy, firm - the best all rounder
New Girl 8: 4 : 7 Medium Red Traditional tangy, firm (Mrs JWK's favourite)
Floridity 8 : 7 : 6 Plum Red Tangy, very firm (RHS Taste Test winner - great for cooking)
Golden Pearl 8 : 7 : 7 Small cherry yellow Lots of very small fruit, similar to sungold but not quite as sweet/tangy
Golden Sunrise 7 : 6 : 7 Medium Yellow Soft texture, thin skinned, juicy, distinctive mellow not tangy taste
                      Black Krim 7 : 3 : 4 Large Black Savoury, meaty – best cooked
Black Cherry 7 : 7 : 6 Cherry Black Savoury, firm, thick skinned
Sungella 7 : 6 : 6 Medium Yellow Medium sweet, thin skinned, a bit watery - not as good as Golden Sunrise
                      Gardener's Delight 4 : 7 : 6 Cherry Red A bit bland - disappointing compared to past years

All the above grown in a greenhouse.
I'm still waiting for my last variety - outdoor Manx Marvel - to ripen.

Interesting John. :) As you know I grow Golden Pearl and I can't understand why your fruit are so small, mine are all around the size of a 50p piece or larger.

                          hi JWK
I agree with gardeners delight very poor taste, I remember it as being sweet and tangy, I have tried seed from various suppliers but all poor, I will not try them again
