    A bit late in the year I know but this sounds like it could be worth a try as the smell of citronella turns my stomach..

    When we went on safari in Tanzania they burnt balls of Elephant dung on the back of the vehicles as it dissuaded the Tsetse fly ... we referred to it as Chanel No. 2 :heehee:

    First catch your elephant ... :)

        Posted link above yesterday - and had to dash off.
        It recommends Avon Skin so Soft as an insect repellant . The fishermen at work say it works and is used by the SAS . We bought 3 bottles from Ebay , but have only given it one test. Mrs H was getting annoyed by a couple of wasps , she applied the Avon lotion and shazam ! no wasps :dbgrtmb: How it works on midges and the viscous biting horsefly's we don't know.....

          I use Rancid Polecat, keeps my skin nice and scalely.

            Yup @HarryS I have used that a lot but it is a bit sickly, this was a new take for me.. Basil.... I am going to have to give it a try... :biggrin:
