      Hi
Had the hedgehog fallen in and coudnt climb out ? even a piece of chicken wire running along one side would help anything climb out .

No the hedgehog is lying on some slabs. It's a bit more solid than the rat so easily spadeable.

I planted Aubrita next to the pond and you coudnt see the chicken wire , you could also use the mesh plastic the one you train plant up , and it doesn't rust plus you can get in green and brown .

I had the rat people out from the council a year or so ago because I thought I glimpsed something but they found no evidence of a problem at all. Good thing it was free! It's a big city anyway, never more than 2 inches away from a rat.

I can't even be sure it was a rat anyway, it is so decomposed. The skeleton seems too big.

I am more concerned about serial dead animals turning up in my garden. So far this season:
          1 robin
          1 dormouse
          1 pigeon
          1 unspecified rodent thing
          1 hedgehog

One expects the occasional corpse but this is an unusually high body count. I'm blaming my high slug pellet use this season - far more than usual.

since the cats have been given away next door I have very little thankfully but I do miss them.
