    Hello All

What could this plant be - the brown leaved one in the middle just below the holly tree? It has been there long before we moved into this house 6 year ago. I have not paid much attention to it until now, but maybe it needs some pruning. I am thinking it could be a type of heather, but which one? Or is it? If it is a heather, I would like to know when it is going to bloom, because I want to leave it alone until it has finished flowering. Screen Shot 2014-09-01 at 16.50.42.png

I would appreciate your info. Thanks & regards.

Please can you add a close up pic to show more detail.
Cannot tell if it is Heather, a conifer sp or Hebe.
What colour was it before ..or was it always brown.

So, it is a conifer. Hebe ochracea James Stirling - Thank you.

I think I will give a pruning then. It has not been pruned or given any care for years, and yes it looks rather poorly.

Oh no...Hebe and conifers are very very different.
    Hebe have flowers.
    Conifers have cones!

Hebe ochracea James Stirling always looks like that ... perfectly normal and healthy.
    I would not prune it.

Thanks for info. I already cut the front, and was going to cut the side this weekend.
Could it have been damaged? Could I go ahead and cut the rest of it, or leave it as is?
The plant looked over grown and tired recently.
