It, apparently, is aimed at growing for commercial purposes (as I thought).

It couldn't happen here :nonofinger: - or could it? :yikes:

It may be "aimed at growing for commercial purposes" but it hits anybody with a single hen in their garden - how can that be described as 'commercial'?

Just because it's called something like 'anti-farming' legislation doesn't mean it isn't used to stop all sorts of non-'farming' activities, just what lots of people do with there gardens. Once you get these sort of laws in place they get used to stop people selling a few spare plants and excess produce, let alone those who deliberately grow loads of extra stuff (tomatoes, fruit, runner beans, etc.) to sell and laws like the Michigan one get used to shut peoples gardens down. If the EU Commissioners brought in similar legislation we'd be prosecuted for growing 'excessive amounts' of fruit & veg.

I last read their anti-farming gardening law in 2012, and at the time the state was trying to bring in even more restrictive legislation, but I don't know what happened with that.
