oh well after looking at all your lovely garden pics i decided to tackle an area at the bottom of the garden i had been putting off! so i have only managed to do about a 1/5 of it so far . I have removed the turf and forked it over still a long way to go but its a start plus i am shattered now(who needs the gym? lol) Not entirely sure what i will do with it once its finished but glad i have made a start:)

Welcome Maria. I did the same with an area of mine that was overgrown with grass and weeds. Good luck with it.

When you'm eating an Elephant, you can only do it one mouthful at a time :)

Ignore Zigs, Maria, I think he's having a moment! :heehee:

Cardboard will work until it's rained on and then you might find you have a soggy mess that will break up. Black plastic is a possibility or zap the weeds as they show with a glyphosate based killer.

You're hooked already! Gardening has that effect. :)

Meant to be advice Sheal, you can't eat an Elephant in one sitting, nor can you create a garden in one afternoon.

Little bit at a time :)

I know @Zigs, it just tickles me when I read some of the phrases you use. :heehee: Keep them coming!

You could use either/or but you need to make sure you shut out the light and if you use bin bags they'll have to be weighted of course, or you'll find yourself chasing them round the neighbourhood on a windy day! :)

Or as my ex boss used to say "don't eat elephant, eat elephant burgers".
