Sunflowers, the weather is being very kind to them at the moment and they are branching a lot more than in other years. I was supposed to be picking a bunch, but spent a relaxing 10 - 15 mins just watching the bees and flies on them. All grown through Mypex this year.

            sunflower.jpg

Should get a bumper crop of seeds for sowing over the next few years, and some for the hens.

A few quick shots around my garden this evening.

I cleared a load of tired, woody lavender from this bed last winter. I didn't replant it, nature took its course and the bed has now filled with self seeded Erigeron, new lavender seedlings and one stray lobelia.

                        002.JPG

The herbaceous border is past its best now, but the Rudbeckias and Alyssum are keeping it going for now.

                        003.JPG

A good crop of self seeded sunflowers this year.

                        007.JPG

Sunflower with a stray runner bean climbing up it. :)

                        008.JPG

Goldenrod flower and Guelder rose berries making a nice colour combination.

                        009.JPG

Soon won't be room to sit here.
