Here's an extract from an article in the Amateurs Gardeners Magazine:

"Christine Walkden's BBC1 Garden Series will be called "Glorious Gardens from Above".
The 15 part series fronted by Christine Walkden will see her visit UK gardens that inspired her career. It starts on 6 October at 3.15pm The BBC will use Hot Air Balloons and Drones to film gardens from high above tree top canopies. This, says the Beeb, will provide an unique perspective for viewers, allowing armchair gardeners to enjoy a birds-eye spectacle of fascinating and historic landscapes.
Christine, who is resident gardener on The One Show, told AG she "had no problem with getting into Hot Air Balloons". She said "We did a series of "The One Show" involving Hot Air Balloons. I've been staggered at the scale of what you can see from above. It almost heightens the definition of gardens. There have been some where I have been completely blown away by the views".
Series Director Gavin Ahern said "Glorious Gardens" would not just be about gardens but also focus on people's relationships with gardens. "There will be great practical gardening advice from Christine and we'll share a wealth of knowledge from professional gardeners across the UK." he said.
Christine's most recent TV role came in "The Great British Garden Revival"- a series that proved so popular that the BBC has already ordered a second run for 2015."

My only concern is that the program is slotted for 3.15pm on Wednesdays:dunno::scratch:. That's not exactly prime time on the TV which tells me that the BBC is still not really listening to the complaints of the lack of gardening programs or the time slots that they give them:doh::coffee:

Sorry Armandii, do you mean Christine Walkden?

I like Christine's style/approach to gardening, shame I haven't got a one eyed monster to watch it on!

She probably is knowledgeable but I'm afraid I find her voice and her sometimes snappy remarks a real turn-off. I don't mind reading her articles though. I don't think she's made for TV or radio.

If I could be bothered to set it up, yes Adendoll. :) To be honest I haven't bothered with television programmes at all since the 'box' was ousted nearly four years ago. I don't miss it at all. :)

Good morning,I have tried armchair gardening, but the armchair wouldn't go through the back door:lunapic 130165696578242 5:

I watch all gardening shows regardless of who is presenting them, just to pick up a little more knowledge and has I don't know them personally how can I either like or dislike them or their presentation,,after all a stranger is only a friend you haven't met yet;)
